Kubeconform validates Kubernetes YAML and JSON manifests against JSON
schemas. It supports strict validation, custom resources, local schemas,
and several output formats. A Kubernetes cluster is not required.
Building requires google-go-lang (Go 1.26 or newer). Dependencies are
included in the upstream source archive; compilation is offline. Go is
not needed to run the built program.
By default, schemas are downloaded from yannh/kubernetes-json-schema on
GitHub. Internet access and CA certificates are needed for HTTPS schema
downloads. Use -kubernetes-version to select the target Kubernetes
version and -cache to retain downloaded schemas.
For offline validation, supply local schemas with -schema-location:
kubeconform -schema-location '/schemas/{{.ResourceKind}}.json' \
-summary manifest.yaml
Custom resources require their own JSON schemas. Schema validation does
not cover all server-side checks or prove that a workload will run.
This package installs kubeconform only, not the separate schema
converter.
See Readme.md in /usr/doc/kubeconform-<version>/ for schema templates,
custom resource validation, and usage examples.
